No Sex Without Toys

Doug is an award-winning playwright with over forty years experience in theatre and film. One of many plays written by Doug , No Sex Without Toys will be a World Premiere production at Shaking The Tree Theatre in Portland, Oregon. 

Production Dates: April 25 through May 11, 2025

Storyline:

After complaining about the lack of sex at home, best friends Randy and William are overheard by Aaron, a non-binary server at the golf club. Aaron suggests they “help” one another and knows the perfect place – The Honeymoon Hideaway, where Aaron also works. Aaron assures them they will be safe and unseen. 

The two men agree and as their night progresses at the Honeymoon Hideaway the adjoining room seems to be having a much better time. Chaos emerges as the voyeurs from both rooms try to listen between the walls and the adjoining doors. There’s an eye-opening reveal when one side opens the adjoining door to get a better listen, only to find out the other side is doing the same. 

All actors need to be comfortable in minimal clothing (NO NUDITY) and be comfortable with touching and handling (NOTHING SEXUAL) adult toys and alcohol.

Women’s wardrobe will include lingerie and robes.

Men’s wardrobe will include boxers and robes.

Except for Aaron, cast needs to be comfortable with stage kissing as they are husbands and wives. The two women must be okay with kissing each other.

Cast (details and specific needs):

William: 30’s to 40’s married to Fredricka, open minded, adventurous, resourceful.

Randy: 30’s to 40’s married to Roxy, very straight, thinks of himself as a ladies’ man. Actor must be comfortable with wearing fake boobs and a female wig.

Aaron: Early 30’s, non-binary, comfortable dressing as both male and female. Very flirty, outgoing, and fun. Works at the golf club and runs the Honeymoon Hideaway.

Fredricka: 30’s to 40’s married to William, vanilla, homebody type.

Roxy: 30’s to 40’s married to Randy, flirty, fun and expressive. Must be comfortable wearing a strap-on.

Saturday, August 18th 11:30-2:30pm

Monday, August 20th 6-9pm

No shoes worn in studio space, please leave your shoes in the hallway just outside studio door.

Please do not touch any studio mirror.

Bring your own filled water bottle if needed.

There is a restroom on site.
